Before we lace up and hit the starting line at this year's 5k Race, we gather to stretch, breathe, and honor the incredible life of Emily Onik — a beloved Hampton teacher, fearless adventurer, joyful dancer, and passionate advocate for physical and mental wellness.
Emily dedicated her life to helping others move with purpose and live with heart. From the classrooms of Hampton High to trails across the world, she inspired everyone around her to embrace life fully — with grit, grace, and that unforgettable laugh. 💛
Join us in a moment of movement and reflection before the race. Let’s warm up together in Emily’s spirit — with gratitude in our hearts, smiles on our faces, and energy in our bodies. Move your body. Laugh out loud. Lift each other up.

Sunday, October 12 at 9:00am - arrive early!
Hampton Community Park (NOT Hartwood Acres)
Schedule:
8:00am - Warm-up starts
8:00am - Music - from HMS band
8:40am - National Anthem
8:45am - Welcoming remarks
8:50am - Roads / parking lots begin to close for race
8:50am - Call to start line
8:55am - Roads closed (access to Hampton High School upper parking lot off McCully Rd will be open)
9:00am - Run / Walk starts
9:15am - last runner / walker permitted to start
9:30am to 10:00am - participants finishing
Awards to follow, about 10:00am
ALERT: Parking within the park will require drivers to wait until most of the race course has cleared (approx 10:00 to 10:15); Parking at the Hampton High School will also be restricted during the race but will open first once runners / walker clear the area
